When Abbie gets cranky, it can get ugly -- and usually ends up with Mommy needing to put down the little pyschopath for a nap. So Mommy puts her in her "straight-jacket" (ah, I mean, swaddle), rocks her to sleep, and puts her in her crib.
It almost always works wonders -- Abbie has been napping great this last month, and when she wakes up, she's in a much better mood.
The funniest part of this routine is the first minute after she wakes up -- lots of smiles, and always the same stretching routine (including some "stretches" which are not-so-lady like -- listen closely at the 16 second mark).

Uncle Bub & Erin
Saturday night Uncle Brian and Erin came over to hang out with Abbie, eat a delicious dinner (braised short-ribs!), and drink a few too many yuenglings and wine. Here is the little princess waiting for her guests to arrive....

Later on during appetizers & cocktails --- (and no, Abbie's bottle is not in the Lager glass... although that would be an excellent trick)

Testing out the exersaucer for the first time - but way more interested in the Olympic curling match than any of the attached toys (who wouldn't be). If Fischer Price wants their next best seller... they should look into big screen tvs.

Despite how it looks in this photo -- Abbie did have a LOT of fun hanging out with everyone (so much so, that she didn't want to go to bed). She can't wait to see them both again very soon.

Leanne's Birthday / Valentines Day
Last Sunday, Abbie went to celebrate Leanne's birthday with Mommy, Daddy, and many members of Grammy's family. Here are a few pictures from the day....

All smiles here.... (guess she found out they weren't real Uggs on her feet)

Katie and Carlyn!
Carlyn was a great "Big Cousin" and showed Abbie how to use all her toys including testing out the unopened ones still in boxes (just to make sure they were suitable for Abbie).
Later on after lunch, the little ladies showed everyone their favorite way to use the Boppy.

Valentine's Day Humor
Good thing Daddy wasn't born in 1980... cuz he's awfully funny!
(sorry about the shaky camera... a little difficult to hold it with my lefthand and be so funny with my right)

Grandmom's Birthday!
Monday was Grandmom's birthday and Abbie helped celebrate all weekend with the family and the Millers (it was also Mrs. Miller's birthday Monday too!).

She also got a chance to show off more of her unlimited wardrobe.... but forgot to wear a smile. It's hard work looking this good.

Who Dat? - Super Bowl XLIV
With the Giants season long over... Abbie had to find someone to root for in her first Super Bowl. So to get her ready, all week Daddy was singing the Saints famous chant "Who Dat" to Abbie. She seemed to enjoy it very much (almost as much as when he sings "Pants on the Ground" from American Idol).
Anyway... Abbie's first Super Bowl was a great time. Grandmom and Grandpa's annual party was a lot of fun, the sentimental underdog won (on an interception from Golden Boy Peyton Manning, no less), and Abbie won multiple box pool prizes.
Yes that's right... Abbie claimed the 1st quarter prize and final score! Here she is celebrating with her winnings!

New Diet
After a late night trip to the pediatrician tonight, Abbie has switched formulas... again.
Less than 90 days old... and already on her fifth different type of formula.
Let's go over the apparent Pros and Cons of her new brew....
Less than 90 days old... and already on her fifth different type of formula.
Pros - supposed to keep her stomach less acidic, which in turn will limit her fussiness and spit up.
Cons - costs the equivalent of liquid gold, and has a very "unique" smell. Daddy thinks it smells like wet dog.... Mommy thinks it smells like crackers. I don't know about her, but I never ate a Ritz that smelled like Oscar after being stuck in a rainstorm.

Anyway, hopefully this formula will finally do the trick (and still allow us to pay the mortgage). Keep your fingers crossed...
