Visit from Team Somers

Sorry for the lack of posts. Been exceptionally busy and haven't had a chance to update everyone on all the riveting developments in Abbie's life.

On Saturday, Uncle Mike, Aunt Diane, Alex, and Matthew came to visit. Daddy went out and bought a fresh Lager keg for the kegerator and Mommy made some delicious pasta. Everyone had a lot of fun. Here's Abbie with some of her guests.

A Dialogue: Sweet Potatoes

What is this orange stuff you're feeding me?

Practicing Sitting Up

We work on sitting up a few different ways around here. One way is against some pillows on the bed:
Looking pretty comfy...
Only lasts for so long...
But still happy to have a new perspective!
Another, newer way, is the "lean-forward" technique:
Give her a toy that she can lean over to play with...

Don't lean too far Abbie!

The point of no return...

...aaaand we're done.

Easter!

"Yeah, I got rabbit ears on my head...
so what are you going to do about it?"

"Enough pictures. Can I get down now?
I see eggs on the ground with cash in them"
"Only 50 cents in this egg? Really??
Someone tell Grandpa its 2010.
I can't even buy a soda with that."

" Enough with the Easter costume party. Is it oatmeal time yet?"

Abbie's Perfect World!

I am delaying the "Easter post" to point out something very important that has just occurred to me:

Tonight Abbie is on the eve of her 5th month birthday. And right now, at this very moment, we can say that in her lifetime...

  1. the Mets have never lost a game.
  2. the Yankees have never won a game*

*for those keeping score at home... she was born 90 minutes after the last Yankee ticker tape parade ever (hopefully)

If somehow Duke loses the National Championship tonight to a bunch of Opie-looking farm boys from the Horizon League... she might as well consider the world perfect.

Let's Go Mets!

3 days to Opening Day... and misery loves company.
Say hello to the newest, cutest Met fan.

"Hey Dad - is it just me? Or do I look like a
Rusty Staub bobblehead doll in this picture?"
